A New Group Forms: Introducing the Four Points Memory Project

In mid-2015, a group of libraries in Milwaukee County and Waukesha County formed a new library memory project called the Four Points Library Memory Project. This group consists of New Berlin Public Library, Muskego Public Library, Franklin Public Library and Hales Corners Public Library. The following people have been identified from each library to coordinate the memory cafes at the libraries: Natalie Beacom & Barbara Draeger (New Berlin); Samantha Stark & Elke Saylor (Muskego); Rachel Muchin Young & Jennifer Loeffel (Franklin) and Pat Laughlin & Lori Kreis (Hales Corners). We are partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeast Wisconsin to assist with registration and support for the memory cafes.

The Four Points Library Memory Project held its kick-off on January 19, 2016 at the New Berlin Public Library. We welcomed guest speaker John McFadden to talk about memory cafes and dementia friendly communities. We had 59 people in attendance. The first memory cafe of the Four Points Library Memory Project was held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 2-3:30pm at the New Berlin Public Library. Please see our schedule of upcoming cafes below:
