Even with the torrential downpour outside on June 18th, 2018, we experienced the joys of the outdoors inside! DNR wildlife biologist Dianne Robinson shared mammal pelts and pictures of Wisconsin wildlife. We shared animal encounter and campfire stories as we learned about the animals around us and enjoyed some camping treats.
Ice Cream Social
The promise of ice cream brought a crowd despite the wet, chilly conditions of May 21st, 2018. We began the afternoon in Menomonee Falls by sharing our favorite flavors; a lot of us like everything! We decorated spoons with wire and beads, made our own ice cream sundaes, learned about the history of ice cream, and topped it off with a sing-a-long.
On the unexpectedly snowy April 16th 2018, we gathered in Elm Grove to share baseball stories and make our own team pennants. On-theme snacks included popcorn, peanuts, and Cracker Jack.

Held the day before the equinox, March 19th 2018, this Café was for preparing to welcome spring. At the Brookfield Public Library we painted terra cotta pots and then planted marigold seeds so we can hone our gardening skills.
We got together at the Germantown Community Library on February 19th, 2018. The main event was making our own silhouettes in the style of the presidential faces on our coins. While tracing shadows, we enjoyed cherry desserts; a nod to the myth of George Washington and the cherry tree.
Wild Plum Kickoff
The first café of the Wild Plum Memory Project was held at the Menomonee Falls Public Library on the snowy afternoon of January 15th, 2018. We opened by talking about what we’re looking forward to in the new year, then made Gratitude Jars. Take a look at our kickoff!
