The October 5th 2018 Memory Café at the Hartland Library brought fun and good cheer to all, plus a visit from the High School German Club!
Songs and Stories
Craig Siemsen brought his guitar and his songs and stories from the 1930s through the 1960s to the September 7th 2018 Memory Café at the Pewaukee Library. Everyone joined in – singing and whistling. Eventually a kazoo band was formed for accompaniment and fun.
Signs of Spring
The Signs of Spring were a bit shy at the April 6th 2018 Memory Cafe’ at the Pewaukee Library. We saw the new eaglets live-streamed from the Decorah, Iowa hatchery, talked about what we were looking forward to as the weather got warmer, shared garden tips, and played a little flower bingo!
Kernels of Knowledge
We met at the Oconomowoc Library for the first time on March 3rd 2018 and we had a great time with all who “popped” in! We learned some fun facts about popcorn and then taste-tested a dozen different kinds of popcorn. We shared our favorites and tried several new variations!
Gifts in a Jar
Our Memory Cafe’ on February 2nd at the Town Hall Library was a big hit! We created “gifts in a jar” by layering ingredients for chicken noodle soup in one jar and for chocolate chip bars in another, then decorated them as gifts! We then sampled a meal made with the recipes we used, and enjoyed fun brain teasers such as finishing jingles and recognizing lines from famous movies. A good time was had by all!
We answered the question, “What if KINDNESS was contagious?” at the first Memory Cafe of 2018. We got together at the Delafield Public Library on January 5th, 2018 and created Kindness Rocks as part of The Kindness Rocks Project. Look at the fun we had!
